deershooter
Took mine out last night 34 bunny's for 46 shots :good: the main problem is the small mag 5 rounds the mag catch is rather crude but on the whole I love mine Deershooter

Alycidon
Wait and have a 17 Hornady Hornet instead. Fox capable to 150 yards, same energy at 150 that HMR has at the muzzle all in a lightweight package that will shoot factory ammo. I shoot a 17 Ackley Hornet, 17 Hornady Hornet is based on this, it is my trap round carry rifle from Feb till July (when 300 yard foxes might be on the agenda). Only issue with 17 cals is wind, they all get blown about, one nice morning last week I had 5 for 5 on crows to 140 yards, next day it was windy, I had 1 for 4. But it is a much more capable cartridge that 17HMR, 20gr bullet at about 3600 fps. My own set up is 10mm high at 100 yards and you are still able to take aim straight at to about 170 yards. Set up an inch high at 100 yards and you are on at 200 yards. Set up like that I tend to miss high at most of my shots are 60-130 yards. http://www.hornady.com/store/17-Hornet A Edited April 21, 2012 by Alycidon
Devon Fox
I have one. Good points: Accurate Pretty Excellent trigger set Thumb hole stock is a joy to shoot Not so good points: Magazine tang is a pain in the arriss, difficult to remove while wearing gloves etc When on safe, the bolt still opens,so when its on your shoulder you can lose/drop rounds Very heavy I love my gun, but when I bought it there wasn't a cz thumb hole version on the market, now there is,I can't really see any advantages over the cz and would probably have bought the cz if it was available at the time and kept the difference in the bank. The savage is far prettier and has a superior trigger, but the trigger can be sorted on the cz for £20/30. On the whole it's a cracking gun and I wouldn't swap it now as I get on with it so well, just trying to give you an honest insight, I don't think you would regret buying one, just have a good look at the cz first, Edited April 22, 2012 by Devon Fox
