vole
Just interested in the cost of extending a low end Sbs by about inch and half or so . Cheers for any info .
Hector Vector
You could consider using a slip-on extender. I've found they work OK and the leather ones don't look too bad. You can also pack them out to adjust the LOP. This one adds an inch.
welshwarrior
A recoil pad is probably the best fixed solution with an added spacer if needed but not to pretty
DOLLSEYES
I've just had a sxs stock extended by 2" someone had it chopped down to 12".I had it done in vulcanite and the gunsmith had to use 2 pads, grind one down, glue them together to make one pad then attach to stock, grind down and finnish by hand and then refinnish wood.Originally i was quoted £180 including price of two pads at £40,So £140 labour, but because i am a good customer £160.4 hours labour at £120 exluding price of pad/extension. vole
Thanks guys , I bought a slip on extender but I think Baikals have slimmer stocks as it is not a stable fit . I might just take it down the dealer and see what they can do for x amount .
hoggysreels
The Baikal SBS I bought tends to clout my finger with the trigger guard, going by what I've read it's meant to indicate the stock is to short for me (it feels a really good/comfortable fit) might pick up a slip extender to see if it make any difference ... not convinced the stock is to short for me though ... love the gun !!
