Lee anniversary kit

Having used RCBS Gear I thought I'd be disappointed with this budget Lee set ........Ordered from Smart reloader which includes the free .223 dies (which were out of stock )so I was allowed the in stock deluxe set :lol:http://www.smartreloader.com/ProductImages...anniversary.jpg

At a glance the quality of the press looks tacky but is robust where it counts and it performed faultlessy and operated well within the tight tolerances that i expect .

The dies IMO are very good quality and on calibrating the sizes after forming with a Moore and Wright digital vernier they were basically all spot on :D

The scales and thrower look up to the job as well and I have not used them opting for digital scales instead

I also have a set of these http://www.ukscales.com/ukscales/psp.htm and use both as a way of checking the calibration because these scales are highly sensitive and affected by outside conditions .......Simply calibrate the 2 and off you go .

This set up can cost as little as £80 + £10 for delivery and no import tax as it comes from Italy :good: ,the total cost to my self was £150 as the combined scales cost nearly as much as the Kit . I'm turning out loads equal to the ones formed on the RCBS gear although the latter will probably come into play with some on the large rifle calibres .

I thoroughly reccommend this kit and can see myself using it for several years . :D

Ive,

Do you consider only having a single stage press a disadvantage? or do the multi's only come into their own when you do big batches? just wondering, like many people I am on the edge of taking the plunge into reloading.

knowing myself like I do i don't think I'll ever be concerned with quicker mass production .It's a painfully slow process when I'm homeloading because I'm so precise and meticulas and to cap it all I find it relaxing .

I was getting the accuracy I wanted for the ranges I was shooting from the American Eagle but i'll never go back to Factory ammo .

Take the plunge

I know I know...

There is the problem, I only know people who reload so I can only talk from their experiences, and my mate who does the most has stopped reloading .223's as it is too time consuming and he finds himself not shooting as much as would have done, as he is thinking about all the time the rounds took to produce  So he has gone back to using AE's.

So, I fully understand the end results are better than factory loads, and it is adds another dimension to the sport (I tie most of my own fishing flies so I know all about that) I think it makes more sense for hunting rounds than stuff to through down the range, unless you are into competitions etc.

So talk from your own :good: ..........there is'nt a need for re-loading hunting ammo in the smaller calibres as they all seem to be pretty consistant in .223 range .....SP'S can be a bit unpredictable though

I would say that from my own limited experience that I could quite easily knock up 50 rds in 2/3 hours from Start to finish and that's taking my time so time consuming I don't agree with .........there is also the issue of what type of shooting are you doing most and barrel life .

As for myself .......homeloading became a surprise opportunity and I'm not looking back

100 bullet heads £17.50

100 primors £3.95

N133 propellant £54.95 .,of which around 30% has been used so far for about 250 rds .........not sure on this but I'm keeping a record on how many .223s a 1kg tub will knock out

Brass is once fired federal (Saved )

Compared to the V-shok this is a lot cheaper
