stupidsalmon
Nice bag, ive yet to get out this year and am now off on hol so will have to wait until i get back, hopefully not too late, I take it you put the dead ones out as you shot them. Cradles? Cheers SS
pin
I don't have any cradles as yet, so nope I just kept fetching the dead ones and relying on weeks of observation. I set up right close to a flight line, with the wind just right and they kept dropping in. I could have had double that number if I had been concentrating. Kept rolling a smoke and looking up to see birds flying off Just goes to show you don't actually need all the gizmos, these are the cheap plastic deeks (not flocked) and I forgot the sticks for them so they were just propped up on the stubble. If you watch the birds and set things out right you will get em

dazza
do you have to use fibre wads on the permission?
pin
Yep, FW only. He has livestock in there sometimes. To be honest a lot of the places I started out shooting were FW only, so I have always used them. I read about plastic being better, developing better pressures and tighter patterns, but to be honest my shooting isn't good enough to need the extra help. Its like chokes. Unless I do skeet its 1/4 and 1/2, never anything different. I have used platics since and can't say I noticed any difference really. At my level the problem I have is getting the gun mounted and pointing it in the right place, not what pattern I am throwing I have seen my gun with my chokes and carts break clays I can't and shoot birds I can't, until I get to that level I won't be worrying about it

Don't forget to chuck a few un damaged ones in the freezer, they make the best deeks I'm like an old hand with the breasting thing now, after another 26 practice runs Even managed to pass it on to my mate, the look on his face as I showed him the first time I still need to sort a "game" freezer out, so none saved whole unfortunately
