demonwolf444
Bought some crossman premiers as the shop was out of what i normally use which is napier wadcutters.22 Terrible accuracy! im talking 5 inch groups at 30 yards through my BSA mercury.. which even with RWS super hollow points normally gets sub inch groups at the same distance and most dont consider those to be particularly accurate. Chucked them now. Always thought they were meant to be good but not through that gun! Any other pellets i might try in the Mercury? Used to use wasps allot, then got one or two with more deformed ones than normal, then moved on to napiers which the gun liked (clover leaf ish groups at 30 yards)but shop doesnt seem to stock them anymore bought theese because they were meant to be good but no luck :( Anyone else got this gun and can reccomend a pellet to try ( i know every barrel is different..) Catweazle
Your Mercury might be like my old Airsporter S, an imperial barrel at 5.6mm instead of the modern 5.5mm. I find that Eley Wasp and RWS Hobby work best.
demonwolf444
Yes they seemed loose, slipping varying degree's into the breech which was the first red flag, tryed to group them anyway but just was not happening! ill order some 5.6 wasps and RWS hobbys and give them a go, worst comes to the worst ill just get some napiers of the internet, killing me because thats my Go to hunting gun and i have nothing to spit out the end! fenboy
As already said the older bSA barrels were 5.6 where as most pellets are 5.5 ,hence BSA barrels are pellet fussy the crosman are avery good pellet just not through every gun ! , so you need to look for pellets at 5.6 , which are a little harder to come by. demonwolf444
Thanks guys! Yeh neer noticed it because ie always used napier Power .22 which grouped very well and are great pellets!, but then the shop has stopped doing them. Also Would not recomend napier power .177, QC is awefull some drop clean through every barrel ive tryed others dont fit in at all, so just a heads up!
