elgreco
Hi everyone, I'm thinking about investing in a pair of CENS electronic ear plugs as I'm getting chill blaines on my ear lobes using MSA Sordin muffs. The question is are they worth the money? Does anyone have 1st hand experience of them? Cheers Tom
polester
I've got some. Expensive outlay but what is your hearing worth to you. I was getting ringing in my ears after rough shooting, I wore ear muffs for clay shooting but they drove me mad when out all day especially when it's hot. I rate them, after 5 mins forget they are in. They are good because they amplify noise like wing beats unlike the passive ones. People say that you have to have them re-molded after about 5 years because your ears are always growing but you don't need the electronics again which is the expensive bit. Have a look round at the game fairs as there is often several stands offering them cheaper. They all come with cens electronics which are a set price it's just the molding that can be different prices
OddJob
What's wrong with the MSA's? Always fancied a pair
elgreco
Nothing wrong with the sordins they are great! it's my bloody strange ears that are the problem. They get sore due to the heat, this would happen with any muffs Tom
jimmyb79
Are you using the foam or gel ear cups with the MSAs? I have both Sordins and CENS and I prefer the Sordins with gel cups over my CENS any day. The gel cups make you forget you're wearing them. Nicky T
I had both the Sordins and the CENS. Sordins were plauged with problems - the CENS on teh otherhand have been faultless! Would not hesitate to recommend them
goldeneye243
I also have both - I prefer the MSA for clay shooting and use the CENS when pigeon or game shooting. The only issue I have with them is wind noise - It can be frustrating when you can't hear people talking (but better than going deaf!)
