miroku_fan
I need some advice regarding the removal of the metal work from a Beretta. I have removed the stock bolt without any problem but cannot ease the stock from the action. There is absolutely no movement between the action and stock. Are then any other screws holding the stock in place? I am concerned about using too much force in case I damage the stock. The gun in question is a Beretta EL2 which has mock side plates. I also removed the two screws from the metal work in the fore end but that is also proving difficult to remove. Any advice would be gratefully received. gixer1
Is the trigger guard removed? You sometimes find one screw holds the trigger guard at the front or back and then you unscrew the whole trigger guard. Although it is a beretta so it could just be down to finely machined tolerances unlike a rattly browning! :yp: Edited May 13, 2012 by gixer1

castletyne
Dont do it i tried with an old side x side removed srews knocked pins out in the end i had a gun in bits took about 3 months to figure out how to get it all back together and now it doesnt work The biggest mistake i made was knocking the pins out these hold the firing pins and everything together
welshwarrior
If the trigger guard has no tang it won't have a hidden screw Place the stock bolt in a couple of turns, if your long hex head in the head of the bolt tap gently on the back of the handle this should loosen it enough to separate the two. If you don't do or understand gently leave it ti a smith who does.
straightshooter1
Stop!!!! the false side plates have two screws at least one of them will go right through the other should be screwed int the action remove both screws in the side plates or one if there is only one but I am 99% sure there are two then the stock bolt and bob's your uncle by the way no pins need to be knocked out just screws let me know how you get one P.S. guys if you are ever taking apart a shotgun be it sidelock or boxlock never knock the pins out just unscrew it is the usual rule Edited May 13, 2012 by straightshooter1
miroku_fan
Thank you all for the advice. I have decided to let the gunsmith remove the metal work from the gun. It is not worth risking damaging the stock.
