utectok
Ok I've been struggling to decoy in some crows recently with alot sighting me or the dog and veering off then I thought maybe it's the new green backed stealth netting I was using. I changed back to raggedy old black backed piece I had and normal service was resumed! Anyone else finding the green backed stuff more spooky on the birds? TJ91
I always found than it didn't mater what I sat behind so long as I sat still. I still use the old camo tank netting or hessian sacks cut up and stitched together
utectok
Fair point but since the only thing I changed was the netting and then the birds came in nicely??? Edited May 16, 2012 by utectok
TJ91
I see what your saying. I haven't used the green backed stuff so can't comment on it. I stick with the old smelly stuff I have in the garage haha, it works if I sit still.
Cranfield
I have both, but prefer the green backed net. As I wear green based jackets/coats when shooting I believe they blend in better than the black mesh. I have no scientific evidence to support my beliefs, but it gives me more confidence and thats all that matters.

I used the black backed type until the advent of the green,to which I have changed with,in my case, improved results.I would however say that the scrim on the ' green ' appears of much poorer quality than that of the ' black ',catching on each and every briar and bramble and anything else and easily and immediately rending asunder thereon. There will never be a net which satisfies everyone, the old style tank nets etc always do the biz and at the end of the day you just have to KEEP STILL and keep your face under your cap. utectok
My theory is the birds see only the outside till they are shoot able but the inside needs to be dark as that's what makes it hard to see inside? Anyway I seem to be able to see my green stool more easilly through the green mesh than the black so perhaps it's less opaque?
