activeviii Posted May 22, 2012 Report Share Posted May 22, 2012 Get one of these, and buy a new nut http://www.google.co.uk/products/catalog?hl=en&cp=6&gs_id=m&xhr=t&q=nut+splitter&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.,cf.osb&biw=1280&bih=909&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=16989779441624355416&sa=X&ei=4zS7T-n_BMeYOpD6zKcK&sqi=2&ved=0CKsBEPMCMAQ Can be used for nut piercing too that will not work. from what i have read it is the bolt that needs to be removed as the nut is welded to trailer. easy way would be to cut bolt of then drill and tap out old thread. buy new turn bolt. cant do that with just a keyboard though. basic tools. good quality penetrating fluid, soak over night. get the plastic off the bolt and clamp mole grips on head, if you can get a second pair on the thread part then go for it. clamp them opposite each other. do not try undoing bolt, whack with head with hammer to shock the bolt and then try doing it up a tiny amount. if it moves then happy days as you should be ale to undo it now. failing all that, give it to the smithy and get him to sort it. save your nails.
