vole
Got my variation and the 2nd hand Marlin is in the shop . I am debating wether to leave it there and ask them to shorten and thread the barrel or to pick it up and see how it shoots , before the barrel is done . What would you folks do ? tweedledee
think id be looking to know if i bought an accurate rifle first.if you go straight ahead and screw cut the dealer could void any warranty, blaming any issues on bad acrew cutting etc.i know it`s secondhand but e would take it back if it won`t hold a group surely??? vole
How long is it to start with? 22 in. Good answer Tweedledee thanks .Daft question but it is a Marlin mn Microgroove barrel . The rifling looks to be really faint compared to my BRNO .22 rimfire , could this indicate barrel wear ? tweedledee
don`t think so barrels don`t need to be heavily rifled. just enough to put a spin on it. can`t see a wmr ever wearing out
casts_by_fly
no, the microgrooves are a bit finer than a standard barrel. Mine in 22LR is very fine. Thanks, Rick
