olly321
use decoys and a hide mate
secretagentmole
Use Real Tree camo and stand very very still? A fake nest on the head might help! Sorry about that, tried decoying without the magnet? Sometimes they can scare the birds! Edited June 15, 2012 by secretagentmole
the crowman
try and find a flight line to the woods and wait for them coming back to roost
dougall
Spaniard, Only really worth decoying if there is crop on which they wish to feed/are feeding. In your situation I would not worry with decoys but stand in the trees late afternoon and roost shoot ie shoot at them as they come into the trees for the night.Best when little or no cover on trees,at this time of year either stand in/near a clearing where you have a good bit of sky you can see between the trees or stand on the edge of the wood and take shots before they get to the trees. Trying to decoy pigeons just onto grass rarely works..unless you have seen them on the ground ie have lots of clover or when lots of acorns/beechmast on the floor under the trees. Roost shooting especially when nice and windy is fantastically challenging but great fun. What type of farm is it? what crops if any? Any flightlines?(flightlines are the pigeons equivalent of main roads, they travel from roost to feed and back again have you noticed many pigeons in the air..any pattern to where and when they fly? If there is a strong flightline(ie a busy pigeon main road) then find a bit of cover under it and shoot as they fly past. ( I have assumed you have little knowledge of pigeon shooting...apologies if this is wrong and I am teaching egg sucking etc..) ATB
unclestuffy
Where abouts do you live? It would be helpful to go out with someone locally who could show you the ropes
