T-Bolt94
To the very best of my knowledge this is a total no go! To acquire a FAC you must have the serial number of the firearm you wish to hold on your license. The cost of a FAC application is £50 and usually takes between 5-6 weeks at the minute although this varies significantly.
rabbiter
just questioned it somewhere else and was told this, strange if true...
T-Bolt94
It may well be, but I live in NI and I can assure you attaining FAC can be very difficult especially for certain calibres. I therefore, highly doubt it.

ERm no it works just as it does here: except you need FAC for an airgun, and shotgun, but you can get a pistol......... Unless you go an see Big Wayne at the dog & duck he'll get you whatever you need..... for a monkey.... (or is that the east end?)

Attaining a pistol in NI is difficult you must be part of a target club where you have been a member for 12 months usually. Alternatively as a PPW which has very stringent restrictions. However, as you say the laws are the same/similar here as they are in the rest of the UK although stricter in some areas especially regarding AirGuns which all must be helf on an FAC if exceeding 1Joule
Cannon
That's definitely not the case over here.

Yeah we can't regardless of how long we have been a member of a club or for PPW unless ex govt official (PM etc) or RUC IIRC and only by special order of the home office. Unless you count
