ging125
I am heading to Nevada in December for a holiday and I have slots for a 223 and 22lr semi auto. Is it worth while(financially and paperwork) buying in the US and shipping back to the UK? Anyone done it or know anyone who has? Cheers in advance!! casts_by_fly
No, it won't be worth it unless they are high dollar guns, have an extraordinary markup in the uk compared to the us, or if you can't get it in the uk at all. Otherwise, forget it. Do a search on here as we have discussed many times. Thanks, Rick
phaedra1106
Main problem is you have to be resident in the US for 3 months before you can apply for the export license which can take days, weeks or even months to be issued. Only things you can bring back without a problem are reloading equipment, brass, bullets, some spare parts, stocks, scopes (non military or image enhanced), magazines and most cleaning supplies (not Birchwood Casey brass cleaner as it's a Hazmat listed product). ChrisAsh
As I understand it the US does not proof their guns by a government department but just by the maker so guns brought in from the states need proofing here
phaedra1106
Only if it's re-sold, if you're keeping it then it's not a problem.
