eddoakley
Unless you mean "shoot" with a camera then yes it is most certainly illegal.
gav05
Quick question why is it illegal? Is it not pest control or the same as using a call bird to call and trap birds to kill. What about using a ladder trap with birds in as a way to call them then shoot them. I was looking at getting one but not if there illegal. The whole question of winged vermin control requires a legal shake - up.Using electronic devices is illegal, and rightly so in the case of geese but if the need to control crows etc is accepted, then why not,it does not involve cruelty.Similarly it is illegal to bait in order to shoot winged vermin yet we put out thousands of tons of feed to hold game.If you set up by a ladder trap full of crows, and used the trap and contents as decoy, then illegal. If your prescence in the vicinity of the trap is purely co-incidental,then you are OK.Yet you are doing exactly the same as trapping, ie controlling crows. I would be interested to hear of any prosecutions, ever,in the UK concerning the use of electronics in the control of winged vermin.Anyway it appears the use of live decoys is permitted in France at least.
