White Rabbit
Morning All, My other half used to use the 21gm version until last year when they started throwing clouds of confetti all over the place. I was using both weights and had the same problem. We ditched them for another brand but Hull are much easier to buy locally. Does anyone know if Hull have sorted the wad problem and are the current batches performing OK? Would like to know for sure before I buy another batch. Regards WR. Cranfield
I have been using Hull CompX 21gm felt wad for some time (this stock was bought a month ago) and there sometimes seems to be some "confetti", but I wouldn't call it excessive in comparison with other felt wads. They don't dirty the barrels excessively and perform well (when I do )
BerettaSV10
I bought some 28g comp x's a couple of months ago, and they were ok, some one reported that a batch of 21g they bought a while ago were a bit more punchy than normal and that seams to sorted, not seen any recent reports of any problems with them. The only thing I noticed was when mixing 21g & 28g, I could tell which barrel fired which cartridge, not a lot of difference but just enough to tell. White Rabbit
The last batch I bought was last spring. Three cartridges in one case had no pellets in, (They were rolling around loose in the bottom of the box) and the clouds of confetti were horrendous. I'd have taken them back but we needed them that day. I emailed Hull but was ignored. Up until that point I'd found both weights to be great cartridges. I'd happily never use Hull again after that performance but I use a game gun and can't find a cartridge on the market that comes close for smoothness. WR find a better shell, comp x are nothing special, there are other shells out there. i`ve never actually found out what the confetti was, i know its the wad, but i`ve loaded to several speeds and different loads, but never managed to get a confetti one. i even used faster and slower powders. Wharf Rat
Gamebore XLR in 21g were OK. The replacement Evos might be worth a try.
