silentbob
just been doing some clays, popped in 2 gamebore 28gr 7.5 70mm carts & after firing found i couldn`t open my shotgun,a bit of perseverance and brute force got it open,i carried on seemed to be ok if a little tight opening & closing,i had some hull comp x`s left & these were no bother at all went back to the gamebore and it happened again, anyone know why this might happen or is it just a case of swerving these particular carts? (btw its a silver pigeon 1 12g) thanks.
utectok
Mm don't like the sound of that??? Hope it's not the firing pin dragging? I have 686 and it only happens with muddy carts on the foreshore which seem to jamm the extractor keep then in a wee Tupperware box on the foreshore now
-Mongrel-
If the Hulls were ok, it does sound like a cart issue.
BerettaSV10
No problems with my SP1, fair enough its tight like any new gun, but not had problems with it opening with various cartridges.
HDAV
Were the gamebore primers punctured?

cant hit rabbits 123
My 686 Onyx became very hard to open, luckily it was after I had finished shooting. Took the barrels off, ejector arms out, springs, pushers and had a look. Nothing seemed wrong, all back together and no issues at all! Maybe some grime/grit somewhere awkward? Tim Kelly
I had that a couple of times the other week on my new SP1. It seemed to be the ejector binding a bit. One ejector arm seems to come out fairly easily and the other doesn't and I think the easier to remove one, for the bottom barrel, may have slightly come out of it's guide causing the difficulty. I will be monitoring it as if it happens regularly it will have to be sorted. At the moment I'm hoping it's just part of the bedding in process. silentbob
being a bit stiff is one thing but on three occasions it was literally seized shut upon trying to open it would break only sufficiently enough to slide a piece of paper between, before needing a worrying amount of force to open fully. In hindsight i wish i`d checked the spents to see if like HDAV said the primers may have punctured, just hope i haven`t done any damage forcing it,
HDAV
One thing i have heard of on these is the barrel selector getting stuck between I/II preventing it opening, if the primers were punctured the pins could be stuck in them stopping the action opening. simjakcal
this happend to a new sp1 i bourght back last year on the first outing,,it had something to do with the barrel selector and the saftey catch both getting stuck in the half way position.dont know how as i never used them ! i took it straight back to the gun shop who un jammed it,,with force i beleave ! fired a load of carts through it and gave it back saying it seamed ok now,,,2nd time out with it,,it did the same again...took it straight back again and they swaped it no questions asked for another new gun...plus 4 boxes of carts for the hassel ! the second gun has been faultless and i really enjoy shooting it... if its a new gun id take it back and ask for a replacement ! utectok
Yeah no doubt if it's a new gun take it back. Sounds like badly put together IMHO the second hand older 680s are better buy a 5-10 yr old one next time
