Zulu
Know this has come up before but just wondered what thoughts are , Had an enquiry re RFD ing my SX3 which is currently advertised here , rang nearest who quoted £25 from this end which I thought very reasonable , the prospective buyer contacted 2 RFD"s at his end and was quoted £50 by both . I know there is more paperwork by the receiving RFD but the cost wasn"t acceptable to the buyer , is it generally accepted that the receiving RFD charges more even though he has no courier to pay ? Thanks
Livefast123
It seems to depend on how well you know the RFD and how much business you put their way unfortunatly. My local charges £15 to recieve a gun and £20 - 25 to send which I think is reasonable. TBH I would rather drive to pick it up that pay £50 for the pleasure. shaun4860
They charge £20-£25 round here to receive The shop thats actually nearest to me (about 2 miles away) told me it was illegal for them to send guns nobody uses them for anything, they are more interested in fishing than shooting
hedd-wyn
I paid £25 for a gun transfer, but to be honest I will never do it again after the hassle I had. I took over two weeks for the gun to arrive. It would've been much less hassle if I'd driven to meet the customer, lesson learnt I suppose. kyska
Agreed, if its within 50 pounds worth of fule, go yourself, you can look at the gun properly aswell. My RFD doesn't charge me for recieving guns, but thats cos I put a lot of business his way.

Zulu
Interesting variations from no charge to £50 , average seems about £25 to receive , its a 500mile round trip so buyer driving is out .
