Bewsher500
duracoat is a similar paint to the two pack epoxy paints available (hardener is usually cyanocryolate based like superglue) it shouldn't take a week to cure ideally you want to assist by raising the temperature when it is curing Edited November 13, 2012 by Bewsher500

activeviii
looks good, do you do the trigger and guard? Can you keep us informed as to how/if it wears please. i want to do two barrels on rifles. i have been speaking to open season about a coating they have but now you have my juices flowing on doing it myself. Will Poon
No I didn't do the trigger guard as it looked very complicated to take apart , and I thought of masking around it but it was way too fiddly to mask so I left it alone , I'm going too keep an eye on the pump action slide part to see about wear . P~MX
looks a tidy job, how much was the kit for this, a run through the preparation would be useful, what do you use this gun for ?
Will Poon
I didn't pay for any of the aftermarket parts as my friend came over from America and gave me them as a gift The Duracoat was €67.00 from Germany it all came as a complete package , scouring pad to roughen the surfaces to be sprayed , degreasing solution and if course the paint itself with spray propelent . I've not used it yet since I've put the parts on ,but it was quite suited to DTL and general sporting clays before the parts were put on Edited November 14, 2012 by Willpoon

RangerDave
I do like that grip/stock, and a nice paint job too! Still waiting for my Duracoat to arrive, although I've gone slightly less conservatively on the colour!!

RangerDave
Only "Woodland Tan", so still a little conservative I guess compared to some colours they do! Hoping there is enough for 2 rifle action and barrels (and moderators) The colour should work well with the custom stocks I have, will post pics when done! jimmyb79
thats a good question jimmy , I was wondering how he got on with the spray job , will you post some pics of your finished item when it's done That depends...if I make a pigs ear then possibly not! I'm only going matte black over existing synthetic stock and blued barrel to renew it, but will take some before and afters to see the difference. Your shotgun came out great, hoping mine comes out as nice.
Will Poon
Well and truly made up with it , if you have any questions feel free to message me
jimmyb79
Will do thanks bud. I've watched and rewatched as much about it on YouTube. Particularly regarding spraying onto synthetic stocks, but seems that providing the prep is right with degreasing and scuffing up a bit, it should be ok. Any tips you have would be gratefully received!
Will Poon
The scuffing pad was very good that came with the kit I scuffed all he surfaces and sprayed the de greaser on the gun it dries virtually right away did that about 3 times then sprayed the gun at an even pace about 3 coats in total the paint was still abit tacky In between coats, that was it I left it to dry for about a day just to make sure then re assembled and off I went to pump some rounds through it , I'm extremely impressed with the muzzle as its not worn at all yet and the pump slide part not a scratch on it

straightshooter1
There is also a uk supplier on eBay But he doesn't do the shake and spray kit I am thinking of trying it on my .243 barrel and trigger guard
Will Poon
If you have a spray compressor thingy you can get the paint and spray it your self
