Make shift hide for the fowling rucksack

I use a roll of plastic garden netting with scrim cable tied to the front of it. To keep it light I then use bamboo canes as poles and leave them in the net pre positioned. I then roll the whole thing up and secure it with a bungee strap. It weighs next to nothing and goes up and comes down in seconds. I made mine 3ft high if I need it lower I just angle the canes in.

On my latest one I use two bungees with the strap of an old gunslip stretched between them. Makes it very easy to carry

The problem i find with hides is they are light when they have spent the week in the outhouse but comming off drenched in rain and seawater and mud they add to the load quite considerably. Like to hear if anyone has a real solution to this "wetting effect" mine is full sythetic and on the face of it you would not think it could soak up that much extra weight, though its way better than the old ex-mod hessian jobbies! the only solutions i can see are a hole (which isnt always allowed) or laying back in the longer scrub (which is never were you want it)
