Just remembered starting this thread so thought I would update progress against goals...

Daydreaming at work this morning and thought about what I would like to achieve next year in my country sports...thought it may make an interesting thread.

My aims are:

Shooting:

  • Actually hit something on beaters day! - done, 10 birds for 16 carts
  • Book a stalk and get my first deer - DSC1 done, no deer grassed yet but hope to change that on this Sunday
  • 100 bird day decoying - failed so far, 55 best
  • First goose / experience of wildfowling - done
  • Get my cocker trained up for the 2013-2014 season - ongoing
  • Shoot a grouse on the glorious 12th and have my cocker retreive it - missed 12th but will hopefully achieve this in a week or so
  • Consistently hit 70% on sporting clays - done
Fishing:
  • First ever sea trout - failed
  • 5lb bass on the fly rod - failed but did achieve on a lure and my first Bonefish and Permit and a 400lb Bull shark this year makes up for all missed fishing goals!
  • 10lb barbel - failed
  • 2.5lbs river grayling on a dry fly - failed
Archery:
  • get up to master bowman classification (which will be a tough ask) - failed & have retired from Archery at Bowman and sold kit to concentrate on fishing and shooting.
What are the aims of you lot for next year? May be interesting to track them on this thread with photos throughout the year.

Failed miserably AGAIN....still.....always next year,

This year I'm blaming the fact I forgot all my shooting kit

Roll on next time....I feel it happening this time.....I have Mr Potter's magic choke system
