fenboy Posted December 3, 2012 Report Share Posted December 3, 2012 Hi I am fairy local to you. Right I guess your shooting on winter rape or perhaps in your area other greens ? Its fairly normal for birds to be difficult during the winter months as they flock up , they have favorite fields to feed on but tend to do the off as soon as you have had a shot or two , often just landing on the next available field to feed on . Movement is key to shooting pigeons on rape so things like pigeon magnets , flappers and bouncers all help as does plenty of decoys , it is still difficult to get a decent bag though , windy days are often best as it breaks the flocks up a little and muffles the sound of shots.
