waterside
We normally allow a team of guns to shoot 3-1 ie 3 shots to 1 bird, the team that day managed 124 birds, they achieved this with 351 shots, 2.8-1 was the ratio. They all shot very well. Does this answer your question. Many thanks luke.

Many thanks luke. no it does not answer my question, by the way i'am not knocking your day nice number of birds shot, good ratio shots to birds, but being myself a driven shooter fail to understand the association of the word fantastic drive and 2.4 birds per drive in the same breath when in reality its Bang, Bang, Miss, drive over as quick as that, as i say again i'am not knocking you or your shoot I wish you all the best. Bigrifle
Are you sure you partake in driven shoots? Oh yes on quite a lot of the best estates around by the way i was born and bred in Retford and have an assocation with the above estate and family back to the 20's

Trust me bigrifle, we picked 25 birds per drive and shot over 70 shots per drive. I was lucky with my pegs and shot 20+ cartridges on one drive alone. Cracking day. Especially the signature drive, flushes I'll not forget.

They are averages over the day what's hard to understand. Drives are tailored to achieve the desired bag which depends on what people are looking to pay. waterside
So let me get this right working things out your way bigrifle, on a 250 bird day your saying you would get 4.8 birds per drive (based on a ten gun line)! Bang bang bang bang miss drive over! I think we all know things do not work out like this it's a collective average, some drives busier than others some drives more testing than others. Your budget and bag sizes must be huge to enable lots of banging!
