ChrisAsh
Not started reloading yet but notice that Vectan powders are half the price of other makes, but the cheaper powders do not seem to be good for smaller sizes like 410 Is there a vectan powder that is usable in 410 loads of around 11-14gram
Dangerous Brian
I use Vectan SP3 with CX50 primers for 14-19.5g loads in the .410. Clay and Game do a sheet of recipes which include 2 inch loads with SP3. Can't vouch for their performance as I only used the data set for 17g which turned out to be a bit slow (but usable), though easily rectified. (Better than too hot though!) All the best with it! ChrisAsh
Hi Thats my point though SP3 is £29 per half kilo whilst A1 and AS are both £39 per kilo = £19 difference per kilo
Wharf Rat
Clay and Game list an 11g 65mm .410 load for Vectan A1. No idea how it performs though.
Andy H
7 grains of A1 with 14 gms gives me 1200 fps in a std 65mm case or 1000 fps (sub sonic) in an all brass case ,Both with over powder cards and 1 1/2 15mm cork wads.
