JDog
I have just plucked and gutted some of the woodcock shot on the annual Boxing Day amble round the hedges and without exception all are covered in vast layers of fat. This mild winter (so far) has been kind to them and long may that continue.
scolopax
Never seen so many woodcock around as what arrived on this last moon. Our wood which normally has 2 to 4 in it had over 20 in on Chrismas Eve.
