I do know of one place that has a ebook for free download, but i'm not sure she would read it.

Go to www.kadampa.org.

They have a free download on the main page.

I'm sure someone knows of a better book but its the only thing i can think of at this moment.

No i'm not a buddhist,

This is for free kindle books, and somewhat US centric - but you can download the kindle app for free, and download free kindle books to read on that (you do need an amazon account though).

Alternatively if you are into classics (i.e. out of copyright) - http://www.gutenberg.org/

There are some specialist ebook-only torrent sites - but that is outside of the remit of a public forum :)

Try your library - Hants library allows you to download a huge selection of books for free - you need a library card though, but it's free just need to go in and get one. The books work on Nook but not a Kindle - I am sure they work on Galaxy. Download them on your computer and transfer to the reader and you get two weeks to read the book.
