I use the Nightmaster 800 with the IR module and it beats my more expensive laser hands down.

Would not use anything else now on my Pulsar Sentinel G2+ or my Pulsar Challenger GS

Swapping the led is easy but not something to do routinely.

i also have the nightmaster 800ir and its tottally **** with the pulsar challenger, when turned and and set up there is no difference in illumination than with the onboard ir of the add on,the nightmaster has a wavelength of 850nm which is too much, ideally you need 800nm or less but the 808nm of the pulsar l808 works.im confused has to why the nightmaster has worked with your pulsar add on but not mine

Hmmm... You have got me worried now. I use the Nightmaster 800 every week with my Pulsar Sentinel G2+ and only used it a couple of times with the Pulsar Challenger GS. With the Challenger it was used at only 25 yards and, given your comments, I am wondering if there is a problem that I have not noticed. I shall re-visit that combination of kit and see what happens at longer range and if there is a wavelength compatibility issue.

Certainly with the Sentinel G2+ the NM800 is far better than lazer but I am only shooting rabbits out to my 50 yard zero at night with this combination. With the limited magnification (5.1x) that is as far as I can head shoot a rabbit. The clear visibility and length of the beam far exceeds that and if I was after foxes and happy with body shots my guess is that you would see clearly in excess of 150 yards.

One of the biggest advantages of the NM800 is the clarity of the beam, none of the "spotty blotchy" effect that lasers tend to give.

the nightmaster is ideal for gen 2 and gen three but its wavelength of the 850nm is too much for gen one add ons

If you want a cheaper option, you can get a 5w Cree IR LED Ultrafire of ebay (search 'Ultrafire 5w') for the princely sum of £27.50 on ebay, just fine out to 100yds.

:)

It'll be 850nm same as the NM800IR unless stated as 950nm - then the IR won't carry far !
