Nato tow hitch

I am going to fit a NATO tow hitch on my disco as some of the equipment, trailers and push poles etc we use with the steam engine are ex MOD. I know there are two sizes of hitch, 1 to go on landrovers and 1 to go on lorries etc but is it just the hitch itself thats more beefed up or are the eyes on the trailers different sizes as well?

We have a ruberey owen 4 ton draw bar trailer thats designed to go behind lorries which we tow with the steam roller but will the eye on trailer fit the landrover nato hitch? I will not be towing it on the road or at any speeds its just for maneuvering the trailer around at the yard and steam rallies.

The eye on a NATO/sankey trailer is significantly larger than the usual 'donut' found on generators etc.

Not sure about lorry ones, but I'd have thought they'd be bigger again

Thanks, I am planning to have all 3 types of hitch, on the dixon adjustable plate i will put a combination 50mm ball and tow pin for the generator sort of stuff and will have the nato hitch bolted to the chassis as they have the holes for them. Only thing is its not worth me putting a landrover nato hitch on if it wont fit the 4 ton trailer we have.
