countryman
I am thinking of having a shotgun rfd to me from a private seller, what steps should i take to do this so that there is no chance of me being scammed. He will want the funds before he sends the gun, which i understand, but what if i transfer the money and he does not send it. i would be interested to know what other people have done. HDAV
He has to take it to his local RFD, say you will release funds once the shipping RFD has the gun or you will pay when your RFD receives it. The RFD's hold the gun till he gets the money.
countryman
I like the idea of my rfd holding the gun at least that way i would know it was what its supposed to be, not sure if the seller will agree to it though. Davyo
If you use you local gun shop, do what I did, buyer pays with debit card and makes payment to shop, shop then sends gun RDF.bearing in mind the monies paid by the buyer paid my deposit on a new gun from said shop, but still it was straightforward and quick.
