Trevor_Noad
The Mrs made me take the day off work yesterday to do the DIY that I had been putting off for months! I managed to sneak out the house prior to her getting up and decided a mornings decoying was in order. Get there for first light picked a rape field that had recently been hit hard and begun setting up. I managed to shoot the first one whilst the hide was only partially erected but struggled after that. The bright sun and lack of any wind made it difficult and they seemed to be travelling very high in large flocks. Managed to shoot 8 with 5 picked up and called it and was home by 1pm to get on with my chores. Won’t complain as a bad mornings shooting is still better than a good day at home doing DIY! I have shot 5 young woodpigeons in 2 weekends......some of the earliest I have ever shot!! They must have been nesting in early December
