fieldwanderer
Can anyone point me in the right direction for loading data for these powders please? They seem to be about the same price per cartridge as AS and possibly more versatile (load weight - wise). I'm not sure exactly what I'd make with it but (if I'm right) the ability to load more than 30g would be handy, especially at the same price per kilo as the AS I'm currently using, I'm unlikely to load below 28g. fieldwanderer
Tried that and got what appears to be their website which seems to have one load per powder, can't see anything more helpful hence the question

Floating Chamber
Try Googling 'MAXAM' www.maxam.net. Then follow 'products' or 'Maxam outdoors'. You will see a little pic of the propellants. Click on this. Look for components....and so on. The PDF starts with a primer...scroll down.... There are loading tables (suggestions) for all the PSB flake and CSB disc range. Edited March 22, 2013 by Floating Chamber
fieldwanderer
Thanks f.c. That's what I'd seen though, it's a start but like I said it's only one or two loads for each powder - actually, having looked again I guess they intend you to use a specific powder for a specific weight (load)? hanky
I have the loading data for PSB 1, 2, 3E, CSB 5, & CSB 0, what data did you require and for what load? Some of this powder is no longer available, I had been using it for years and is a good reliable powder whatever you are loading.

I just wanted a nosey really so I could decide whether to get some or not, I've not got any load in particular in mind but if one of the powders will load anywhere between 28 and 36 grams of shot and use similar quantities of powder to AS (around 22gn for 28g), that would be absolutely spot on -sadly, I doubt it. hanky
Like most powders they are designed for a designated load but some can be more versatile than others, it is generally what you can get your hands on at the right price for economical loading, BUT some powders are better than others on specific loads, everybody has their own opinion on certain powders, if you can get your hands on some give it a go and make your own mind up - you wont be disapointed !!! sitsinhedges
I would just buy some AS and some A1, cheap and easy to get hold of with decent data available.
fieldwanderer
Thanks guys, I've still got just under a kilo of AS left and must've made 450 cartridges up on my new toy last weekend so there's no rush. I've been sticking to AS and 28g shot since I started reloading simply because its cheap, just looking into alternatives really.

fieldwanderer
I've seen the maxam site but thanks anyway. Pretty sure I read somewhere that the two are NOT the same - wouldn't swear to it though, I've read a lot about their powders lately but seen very little load data.
