Got my first permission today. Split over 2 farms (same owner!) 418 acres in total. Open permission on the whole farm except game. Barley being drilled today.

Got my deeks out but only brought in rooks. Took 4 but missed another 3 or 4.... noob I know! Moved fields 50 odd pigeon flew up when I got there. Good things ahead I thought... non would come in to my pattern although a good few sat in the trees about 100 meters away after flying over. Changed the pattern a couple of times but once again the rooks were more interested!

Finished off with a good look around the barns an walked the perimeter of the land to reccy for rabbit an feral pigeons/rats etc.

A low bag but very very pleased but I think I want a magnet or flapper for some more movement in my set up.

Thanks guys.

I agree Jdog I'm sure ill be learning a lot over the coming summer. I spent an hour looking over the land this morning an on the first field I was successful. I think I should have stayed put but kid in a sweet shop comes to mind :-)

As a first buy would people recommend flapper or magnet?
