collingbournewood
Do pigeons take any notice of a dog when coming into roost ? I take my spaniel roost shooting, and there is me all Cammed up and a liver & white spaniel sat by me (if I am lucky), birds also seem to come in when he is retrieving, and hunting, but never having not had him there would it be better to leave him in the Landy and just get him out to pick up at the end any body got any views ?.....mind you don't think it would be the same without him there. fenboy
Never had a problem when using a dog , I have even had pigeon come into decoys while the dog is coming back out of the pattern with a dead bird.
shootnfish
Same here, also had pigeons come into decoys when my dog is out picking up and he's a big black lab. Even shot a couple when this has happened which is quite amusing as he tries to then get 2 in his mouth at the same time, these are completely safe shots which i take by the way. They don't seem to take any notice of him roost shooting either. Edited April 13, 2013 by shootnfish

If the birds still come in when he's hunting/ retrieving, what's the problem ?
