Dougy
I thought i would try a little critter out i bought from Catton last weekend on a fox that i had unfortunately missed a couple of weeks ago, it had become extremly lamp shy as they do. It had been seen around 20.00 -20.30 on Sunday night by the farmer, the text i recieved was " charly watchn me in bak field" The reply was be there ASAP but due to the high winds on Wed night i thought it best to leave it. Last night wasnt too bad so i popped out around 19.00 set up my caller and pegged out the little critter, around 150yds away switched them on, i turned the volume down on the caller and used a rabbit and rodent call. Then set myself up on some sillage bails for a good all round view , got nice and comfy poured myself a coffee had a quick look on PW, and kept a check for charly. There where 5 pheasants in the field for a while 1 male and 4 hens plus a load of pigeons so i new that there would not be a fox around. The distress call of the pheasants gave it all away for the fox, but i could not see him, he was around somewere but which way was he coming in from. There were foot prints on the bails i was sitting on, was he coming from the back of me I glassed the caller and critter but no sign, then about 30yds from the caller i clocked him running around the wiggley-spinning tail critter then freezing, then he ran to the left of it then to the right, i could get a shot as it seemed to be having a funny turn, much like a cat playing with a mouse, rolling around. The light was starting to fade not that quick but i though if it keeps this up i will be here all night. i gave a bark sort of noise, (well it could have been anything) it stopped still just long enough to get a shot off. the pictures a bit naff but still. After around 20 minutes or so i got down to pick it up, had a quicklamp in the field and spotted a pair of eyes in the far corner, Dam i should have waited longer It wasnt playing this one, it didnt hang around to see what its buddy was doing. Oh! well be out later tonight weather permitting PS i seem to be getting a bit of a collection of gadgets, electronic callers, battery opperated wirly thingy's, So what i say to myself, it makes me happy

I would say for an honest opinion its a little early its only been out the once. Its a day time or late evening gizmo only so for me it will have limited use, but as you say its worked on the first outing so 100% so far Looking at it if you are into your pigeon shooting and have any peckers on a random timer you could knock someting up allot cheaper, its basicly tat fluff on a bendy stick wiggling around. I had spent ages trying to find a battery opperated cat toy (ball) to use but gave up.
