Bullets, availability and substitutes.

I have been using Hornady 140gn Interlocks, However i cant get them at all at the moment, Cliffs have some Nostler partitions.

 

Are these any good if not what would other people reccomend for handloading a 6.5x55, With soft points 140gn?

Partitions are very good in pretty much any size!

There is an element of what you can get about at the moment, if you can get the partitions then personally I would buy enough to keep you going for the moment. In other calibers the sierra soft points work really well for me as a multi purpose bullet but lots depends if you are just shooting muntjac and foxes or big stuff, the smaller quarry you might have expansion issues with the partitions

Mainly my shooting is: Fox, Muntjac, CWD, Reds and occasionally Roe.

 

I mostly shoot the smaller deer and foxes esp at this time of the year.

 

Ive (hopefully) just picked up someones last 200 Gamekings in 140gn flavour, will have to see what their like.

Have you ever given the 140 Amax a try? They sport a pretty good BC and for smaller game should perform admirably. Some fellows here are really high on them for Whitetail deer at range.

Yes i have.

 

For foxing their excellent.

 

They really do mess up Muntjac tho. Possibily be ok with neck/head shots.

 

Even their getting problematic to get hold of.
