al4x
anything between 1's and 3's with a reasonable load will do and then its down to luck. Try baiting it to a set spot and when its regular sit out but they are hard with a shotgun because of the range you need to get them in to. the pigeon man
Cheers got a silver fox I use to squeak they come in range no problem when I have Tryed in past lost around 25 lambs now :(
al4x
thats an expensive lot to loose, personally I would be applying for a FAC and .223 asap or looking for someone local to help out as thats the way to sort the problem. You'll find the canny older foxes that are the big issue with lambs have mostly been called before and are wise to it.
the pigeon man
I think that why the silver fox works well because its a new ish squeak I thought about finding some 1 but can't find some 1 that I trust around the farm n fields ha going to Do an all nighter Friday bate it up abit day before see what happens fingers crossed
al4x
get some really smelly cat food and just bung down a tin a day for a few days, if you half empty the tin and leave the rest in the tin strapped to a post you will be surprised how occupied it keeps them trying to get the food out. If you were closer i'd offer to come and sort it out as this year i would imagine its been depressing enough farming sheep without this, best option if you asked some local keepers they may have someone trustworthy who you could accompany to keep an eye on them till you trusted them. Underdog
I was sitting out for some lamb takers last night myself, they had moved though but there was two well spaced shots not far away on dark! Bet someones was sick of them too! If no cat food leave them some dog biscuits where you want them! If you have 6 or 5 shot just wait untill they are side on! Good luck. U. Gregthegreat
Personally I'd go for something bigger like AAA or failing that, BB. I've never had a runner with either and taken some at good ranges. Just my two pence worth. Greg.
