Vulcha
I think cheaper is the better option for me
neil
Vulcha, over the years i have had all sorts of scopes on all sorts of airguns and IMO i'm with brain dead,at the moment my main airgun is fitted with a 6x42 fixed mag scope,in the past i have had variable power scopes on airguns and to be honest once set up i have never moved the magnification if your watching the money a 4x or 6x will be fine
Vulcha
I don't really want to be spending loads, but if a non-zoom scope is better, i think i will go for that
red_stag88
On the point of loose silencers, on mine i filed a small bit flat (so the screw could bite better on the barrel), and put loc-tight on the thread and around the base of the silencer. Never moved since.
Vulcha
I went to my local gun shop today in Ivybridge, i saw a really great gun called an Air Arms S200, it was very light and it was one of those pnumatic guns, it cost £265 without a scope, do you think it is worth it? red_stag88
I personally dont like the stock from a hunters perspective, target shooting the stock is great. Dont forget - If you are getting a PCP (precharged Pnumatic) you need a pump (100 smacks) or a bottle (Again pricy).
1 of 5
This may be obvious but at 15 you can't buy an airgun!

Adamo
If there is anywhere that you can have a go do it as this is the only way of knowing what suits you, once you start straying into pcp territory you are talking bigger money, plus the added cost of refilling if you go for a divers bottle, but check with your local Fire Brigade as someone on another forum got one with its full test certs for £20 quid. I started with springers because I want to be surprised as I make my way upwards towards pneumatics.

Vulcha
£100 for a pump? Thats stupid, can't you just use a bike pump with an adaptor?
red_stag88
You would be knackered after pumping it up to 300bar (300 atmospheres of pressure) Braindead that was a cutting comment
Futch
Vulcha, as to your earlier question about the price of a combo, yes thats a good price. So long as you tighten the screw before and after shooting you shouldn't have a problem, you could try using clear nail varnish to hold it together, don't use glue, too difficult to take apart. My prefered caliber is .177 as it has a flatter trajectory. Accuracy is more important than anything else, if you miss what good is that? either caliber will be equally effective if it hits. As to comments of over penetration, rubbish, just use the right pellets! .177 ammo is cheaper too.
brain dead
it was a risky comment i would say red
Vulcha
Well, forget that S200, i dnt want to spend £100 on a pump, i can think of better things to spend £100 on. I think the lightning sounds much better again.
