Hi all... I have 3 fields I shoot that have loads of pigeons flying over and feeding on, but they never fly low enough or stick around long enough to get a shot off..

I want to start decoying but I have no idea how to go on, can anyone give me a simple guide to get me started?

Thanks in advance

The BASC has some videos on their website as I recall but I can't remember whether they are more informative then instructive.

Many others will say this I'm sure, but there must be people near you with the kit and experience to share, and no current permission....what about a bit of quid pro quo?

There are many good videos on utube including a new one from BACS which will give you some good advice. To be short and to the point you have to lure them in with decoys, be well hidden and for the best results be under their flight line. Spend a few hours spread accross different times of the day to find this info out.

I always advise new shooters to invite a experienced pigeon shooter along .

You will learn more in a day than by reading any book , if you edit your profile to show your location I am sure there will be someone local to you that will gladly help out.

What crops are on the fields your shooting ??

If they keep flying over, sooner or later they will be low enough to shoot. Then again, you said they have been feeding on the fields, so they must be low enough.

If the fields are beans then you might not have much joy there until harvest. You can always try sticking some decoys out and see how you get on.

As has already been said, there are plenty of instructional videos to get you started - some are better than others.
