License to shoot pests with 5 shot

Had my FEO interview this morning for my FAC and all seems to have gone well.

 

However they are asking me to send in a DEFRA license for shooting avian pests with a 5 shot.

 

Said I can print one off the Defra website.

 

But I cannot find one anywhere, does anyone have a link or example to one please?

Hi mate natural England website has all the general licences to download defra website no longer has links to them , hope it helps.

I asked BASC about this a few weeks ago...

 

The short version is that the Wildlife & Countryside Act 1981 permits shooting/control of birds in various scenarios, but this is NOT permitted by using a semi-auto. See link >>here<< Paragraph (or section?) 5

 

However, the General Licence (Issued by Natural England link >>here<<) specifically DOES permit shooting with a semi-auto (as long as it is not Section 5).

 

It's back to the old thing about knowing which legislation you are shooting under. I think your FEO just wants to be certain which is which - you don't need to formally apply.

If you can try and keep away from this avian pest business and apply for fox, vermin and clay pigeon shooting. Otherwise you will end up with a restriction that you can use it for avian pests only.
