pegasus bridge
cheers gents i don't have a clue where they were picking these up then - land surrounding for a few miles is either wheat, beans or (failed) rape.

pegasus bridge
Oats and grass seed buddy They seemed much bigger than grass seeds though? I also was surprised to see them eating sprouted beans.

JDog
Oats in the top picture and possibly triticale in the bottom one. There has been a lot of spring oats sown recently where the previous winter sown crop has failed and has been redrilled. The bird in the lower picture has been feeding either on a cover crop sown for game birds or on a field margin of 'birdy mix' which is heavily subsidised.
