Fuji Shooter
Just a heads up that Long Marston is now open on a Saturday between 10 and 5pm. The sporting layout is set each week by Carl Bloxham who now runs the shoot. The caravan has now gone (thank god) and a new Portacabin is in place with catering facilities (breakfasts, cakes, etc) and there is now even toilets!! Currently Carl has a 70 bird sporting and a Sporttrap running. FIngers crossed he can get skeet open eventually. Carl has put a lot of money and time into the ground over the last couple of months so we wish him well. He is also one of the nicest guys you could ever wish to meet and has probably forgotten more about sporting clays then we will ever know. Mickthemiller
Hi I have to agree I was with him for a lesson on Wednesday, and that evening left some comments about the set up in Guns and equipment, wrong section I know, but you are like me and hope that Carls new venture is a success, Have you tried the new set up yet, if so what is it like I am still a bit of a novice but was thinking of going there in the next two or three weeks so if you could give me and others some feedback I would be very gratefull Kind regards Mick

MK3800
Totally agree! Had a lesson with Carl and learnt more in 3 hours than I did in 2 years. Really nice guy and sets awesome targets. Wish him all the best and am booked in for another lesson next month.
Rich_H
Was there this afternoon to introduce my brother and the old man to shooting. Carl made them both feel totally welcome and got them hitting targets within half a dozen shots. Top gent, I hope he does well with the ground. Rich_H
It's actually on the old airfield, go past the entrance hut turn right and it's just past the gliding club.
Kes
As an aside, I used to go to Long Marsden camp when my parents ran the NAAFI there - many moons ago - passed there the other day after maybe 40 years - totally demolished every bit of it. I still pass the hill on the left going south with a chill, after all the stories of witches and spies. Nice to see its being used (at least in part) for shooting. Carl puts on some fantastic birds that suit all abilities. Just don't turn up with the wrong range bag like me and end up with a pair of Skeet chokes and 21gr 9s !! Oh and Full English Breakfast served all day for 4 1/2 notes, whats not to like. Edited May 26, 2013 by Freakmode
