the pelt man
The last time i had my eyes tested was a few years ago, i was told that i had a Astigmatism & that i needed glasses for both reading & long distance. Now if i remember rightly i was told that i couldn't have Contact lenses for this problem & it has taken until now to reserch further as i do need to put on my glasses but hate using them in the field . To my great surprise you can now get Contact Lenses for a Astigmatism So i'm of to have my eyes tested again this week & will be getting 20/20 vision again Lets hope the Wife is as good looking as i think she is PELTMAN
pin
I have those, you can't get in daily disposable though (pain in the ***). I am so used to just throwing mine away now I fear loosing one of the monthly ones, not cheap
the pelt man
I saw on the web that Dailys are coming out very soon. £100-£200 a year isn't realy that much for 20/20 vision as i'm fed up with stalking mounds of earth or clumps of grass :good: it takes up to much time PELTMAN
dunganick
i am astigmatic and to my knoledge you still cant get contacts for us that offer 100% vision. Dependant on the individual case it could be as good as 95% but could also be very poor. I have not yet bothered with contacts, as i am short sighted and astigmatic and cope fine. If you want long eye relief bino's then opticron are the way to go.
kip270
Not true nick. I have astigmatism and you can get lenses that are 100%. It is all to do with angles, and the more expensive one's are better because they come in 0.5 increments where the cheaper one are only in 0.10 increments. Basicly the lense is like an X and all they do is rotate the X until you can see My first lot were renewed every six months (all Toric) then they brought out monthly ones which are a lot better To start off with it is a pain, but when they get the right ones you will be glad you have them
plexer
You can get daily disposable torics but they only cover up to a certain level of astigmatism. I tried monthlies and couldn't get on with them, had no problems getting them in on eye but the other one was such a pain I gave up in the end. Basically a toric lens is heavier one side so that as you blink that ends up at the bottom that way they are the correct orientation in your eye. Lancs Lad
You are spot on there mate, I should have said for my prescription I can't have daily toric's.. Im a boggle eyed goggle eyed too.............. Think my "trial" took about 2 months.................ended up with FOCUS DAILIES (torics) fair enough they cost me 39.99 for a months supply.... But I dont use that many in a month so I went with the buy as you need em programme with spec savers. Most useful when shooting whilst wearing a face veil....... I do get some "blurring" around the edges every now and again, and they can be a bit funny in "false" lighting...... Other than that.........Im happy enough.. This depends alot upon your level os astigmatism. But obviously they have to keep the eye's health as hte priority. It is possible to get 100% or very close to vision, however dependant on the level of your astigmatism it is not certain. I was told not to bother with my level of astigmatism unless i would be happy with less than 100%, This was on hte recomendation of my mums old boss, from when she was an optician However if you can get 100% vision with them i envy you very much so.
