Dominicrobed
Hello I bought a new browning Maxus this morning and forgot to ask am I meant to bed it in with heavy load cartridges or can I use any load ? Many thanks
rimmie
From I've read/been told your supposed to put a 100 or so "magnum" cartridges through new maxus's. use say 36g, 42g something like that. I wouldn't bother putting 100's of 50g bb's through it, just a few to settle things down.

Churchill
I have a Maxus and just went out on the Pigeons using either 30 / 32g 6 Shot Gamebore Clear Pigeon. I've put a few hundred through it now and it has been absolutely Faultless. Mine is the 3 1/2 " chamber. Just don't use cartridges under 70mm and keep it clean, especially the gas holes, use nitro powder solvent and a pipe cleaner. and all the fouling on the magazine tube will rub off easily using some scotch brite. Greenhunter
Mine was the 3 1/2 version. Didn't 'bed it in' and never had any probs with it at all. Mine actually cycled any length but didn't like 21grmers. If you want to check its been thoroughly degreased just strip it down and clean it. Nothing else is neccessary IMHO! Great gun, enjoy!! Dominicrobed
Not to bad , going to take a but of getting used to a new gun , shooting Martin gorse this Sunday 100 bird shoot , then again the following Saturday for their charity shoot and the Sunday at my club for skeet and DTL. Hoping after all that shooting I'm used to it lol Did you enjoy JJ's last Sunday ? And hopefully if I get time to do a bit I'd pigeon shooting at some point as well :-)
