welshwarrior
Had my new FLO come out today to do the change if address on mine and the wife's SGCs and FAC they require us to have a monitored alarm system fitted as we have over 12 guns. Has anyone else suffered this in Hampshire? I'm phoning BASC for advice in the morning this seems stupid to me no other force has asked for this I've lived in 6 others in the last 10 years
dob
I come under west Sussex and was told anything over 11 weapons I would need an alarm but he happy with vibration alarms in cabinets that go off if cabinet is hit or shaken violently. They are £7 each from amazon , he happy with these ask your firearms officer if he happy with these .

Bluebarrels
No different chap mate I was going to suggest storing some in the main armoury at the wifes place of work, but that's Surrey and that might cause other problems with the licensing, just an option as you'll be on the road again before you know it back to work next Thursday/Friday if your about mate for a brew mate BB
welshwarrior
BB I'll PM you next week but Thursday looks good. Well BASC have a meeting with the chief constable on Tuesday and are doing to ask about this policy. I'll post and update next week.
welshwarrior
BASC got back to me after their chat with Hampshire it is not their policy to inforce a monitored alarm system for over 12 guns. They want an alarm system of any sort fitted over 12 guns. So in issue for me as its situation no change.
