djgeoff
went out with mate yesterday to shoot corvids, same ole story, loads on field, as we walked in they took flight, a few came back and we had 40 between us then we gave up. so on way back dropped into another permission to have a bash at the bunnies with my bsa .177 ultra.the rabbits were always just off the main track into field down a slight bank and near hedge line. so i decided not to walk i though rabbits would run a mile and as tractors etc always coming and going they would not bat and eye lid to my 4x4 and it paid off. 1st gear very slowly moving with .177 air rifle out window spotting then stopping and taking the shot, approx 35 - 40 yrd from targets. one particular shot i could not believe, rabbit face on to me in hedge next to post, head shot rabbit flipped as they do and there was another right behind it that never moved so quickly reloaded gun ( bit of a task with ultra) and took that one out, at that point mate said 'look there is another a big b.....r going to investigate the now dead bunnies on the floor'. so i waited until it stopped and took that out with another head shot, loads of fur piled out as well when pellet struck. by the time i got 150- 200 yrds down this track i had hit and killed ten, having a better air rifle with an easier loading and cocking mechanism i am sure i could have got more. by this time farmer was on his way out after feeding cattle, his was waving like crazy and pointing in the direction of the same hedge line. as we all got out to see what he was waving about, he said 'cant you see that one on the rise?' it turned out to be a rabbit sitting about 600 + yrds away in next field. i replied ' yeh but my air rifle won't go that far'..... made me laugh, i suppose he thought my bsa ultra was a bullet rifle. mind you he was still pleased with the amount i had shot in such a small amount of time and said ' you can come again, here is £20 each to buy some carts for your shotguns you are doing me a good favour' we thanked him, and we went on our way. so no pics to prove this and farmer wanted to lock up, so we had to leave bunnies for the foxes... shame really we normally collect them up Edited June 17, 2013 by djgeoff
team tractor
My best is 5 out of 5 in 3 minutes with the Airarms . I recon I can shoot more with the air rifle than hmr due to how quiet they are Edited June 17, 2013 by team tractor

spanj
I'd have more chance of a butt off the pope than £20 for 10 rabbits from our farmer !!!
