houlsby
Anyone loading 60g vmax? Looking for some nice flat ish loads that are nice and cheap running alongside my subsonic project as if now got them shooting well but I'm still buying sako's in full fat and at £30 a box, it's costing a bloody fortune! ste12b
I shoot the 55 gr v-max in 223 (1:8 twist, border barrel, AR15). If you want the load data for that bullet then PM me.
Kes
I shoot 40's and 50 grain in a remington 700, 1 in 9 twist, n133 and its zeroed at 150. 1/2 up at 100 and 4" down at 300. Have never had a twitch - just the occasional clean miss - my fault.
njc110381
I put 27gr of blc-2 under mine but that's quite a hot load. Reduce by 10% and work up if you want to try it.

houlsby
Well guys, after doing some testing Iv try'd it out for the first time on live stuff. First, when I'd zero'd up and was having a look at the spent cases, a pigeon decided to drop in literally a foot from my target at 170 yards. Managed to take its head clean off leaving the breast. So decided it was zero'd well enough! And have been out tonight for a Charlie and bagged one. Managed to call him in to 35-40 yards using the fox 'calling out' sound on the u caller, closing the truck windows until the last seconds, and leaving the lamp steady so as not to alert it (any more than a 240 blitz with red filter does..) . The 60g vmax had expanded and made a bit of a mess at that range tbh, entered in the chest, exited through its lower back end. Lovey looking young adult. My first of the harvest.
