mad1
Hi all I'm planning on doing the underside and under bonnet etc this weekend ( or more than likely next !!) How much would I need do you think ? What do you recommend and what's the best way to put it on ?? Also iv heard about adding old engine oil to the mix and use a small compressor ? Iv spent ages getting all work done underneath or welding etc so I want it to last and look better ... Any tips I was thinking about putting some sort of big cover on drive to completely cover drive and hang sheets from the bottom of the bodywork to the floor to enclose any overspray ? Many thanks M1 Edited July 11, 2013 by mad1
philm
Paint rusty parts with this http://www.frost.co.uk/granville-heavy-duty-rust-cure.html Then underseal it with this. http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_nkw=schultz%20underseal&clk_rvr_id=499544673481&adpos=1t1&MT_ID=11&crlp=21310530855_2113181&tt_encode=raw&geo_id=32251&keyword=schultz+underseal&crdt=
Lord Geordie
Underseal can be a bad water trap and cause rust by locking in water! I think many prefer waxoyl for under body protection! Each to their own!
Bows
I use the wax oil stuff from Motorworld for my 90. About £20 for 5 litres. I would use two tins for a 110.
mike-b
i used 8L on my hilux but i did go thick on it! yeah go for waxoyl stuff its got way better coveridge than cheaper stuff you end up using twice as much so is a false economy! if a jobs worth doing you may as well do it properly, and yeah i sprayed it on using a compressor and a cheap undersealing gun off ebay that cost 5 quid i think! its dont a great job!!
