Closest PSG Manchester Area & Applying for FAC tips

Recommended Posts

Hello all

Looking to have a go at trying PSG currently have a semi auto to use so looking to give psg a go where is the nearest place I live near stockport,

Currently in process of getting a fac probation's up in august.

Would also like some advice on my fac application currently wanting to put down couple of rimfires,2-3 centrefire and one .38/.357 and ammo to be .22lr 2000 to buy 2500 keep

.223 500 buy 600 keep, .308 300 buy 400 keep, .38/.357 300 buy 400 keep do these seem reasonable as I will be doing some vermin control on some of my permissions I shoot on

with my 12g. Been told to add moderators and expanding for vermin/shooting on approved land

I have used these calibers constantly since joining the club, I have been advised by other shooters to put others down nothing stupid obviously but like .17hmr etc

Also wanting advice on safe's how much ammo can you fit in them lock top safes, will get an extra safe just for ammo like but just curious any help/advice appreciated thanks.

ah right thanks kennett just been told batch consistency is good excuse for wanting a larger amount on application,

was thinking a ruger 10-22 and a cz 452 or 453 b/action as my first rimfires are they good choices?. what brands should I be looking at for .308 rifles?

I'm on buy 500 hold 600 for .22, buy 200 hold 300 for .223cf, seems to be the average?

You may get challenged on why you would need more than one rifle of the same calibre so be prepared for that question with a well thought out reason.

You will also need the land cleared to be added to your FAC.

Rossendale Fusileers is about 20mins from you for PSG, search on here for the details mate.

thanks for info jon might lower them then across all then when I apply

would wanting one specific for mainly target/competitions be ok and the other for all other uses vermin/pest control but also on target/zeroeing.

Im trying to get more land round where I shoot currently offering free help to the farmer / free labour and my mate I shoot with Is a car mechanic so that helps.

awesome thanks looking to get usage out of my hatsan besides clays/vermin.

You are probably best speaking to people who already do all the disciplines you are interested in first then using all that info to build your application. You may use 1000 .22rf rounds in one mini rifle comp for instance. My advice would be to do all the research and groundwork then apply, don't rush it or you will end up spending more time in the long run. :)

Had a ruger 10/22 for my first, was great fun and plenty good enough for shooting a lot of rabbits, BUT I found it not great for driving round dusty fields with it out of the window as the dust kicked up stuck to the action and caused a lot of jams, got a 452 silhouette and its a lot more reliable and probably potentially more accurate

well im going to research more get some more land cleared and permissions, do have my mates who shoot centrefire who can mentor me for vermin/pest control

a ruger 10-22 brilliant gun shoot one every thursday at another club I go to. definately want one and a 452 just going to justify going to comps, target, zeroing, pest control for having 2 x rf

think im going to stick with CZ for a bolt action rimfire. regards for shopping for safes can people advise me looking at brattonsound 6/7 extra deep w/ lock top

been advised by other shooters to take out the foam holders out due to feo will base the safes internal 6/7 to be the limit when it can take 2-3 more apparently

for a dedicated ammo safe should I just buy a budget gun safe they seem to be cheaper than these dedicated ammo safes
