  1. there are some used mossbergs on guntrader for £185 - £295 and the winchesters are £245 and £379
  2. I picked up this saying a few weeks back but I thought it would be relevant here maybe lol Compromise where you can. Where you can't, don't. Even if everyone is telling you that something wrong is something right. Even if the whole world is telling you to move, it is your duty to plant yourself like a tree, look them in the eye, and say, 'No, *you* move'
  3. as said before any old winchester or the new ones are good plus mossy 500/600 series I can recommend the cbc magtech 586 which is just a remmy 870 cheap to buy and not failed me yet
  4. I would go door knocking as its called in the mean time to try to get some land to shoot on. whilst your doing this keep going to the clay range to keep your skill up with 12g/20g etc whatever it is you get get a cheap pcp airgun .22/.177 once you get somewhere to shoot on to control rats/rabbits etc zero it for about 25/30yd you can learn your fieldcraft with that and then once you've started getting sucess with it. then apply for your fac once you have got the farmer to sign a land permission letter you dont have to use the police one's which are usually convoluted, just write your own up and just have the farmer sign and date it start off with as said small cals eg fac air, 17hmr apply for both. your fac air or 22lr for quiet shooting at shorter ranges and the 17hmr for longer range then once you've had those for a bit you can then move up if and when the need arises please remember one thing for shooting out in the field if it's not safe or you dont feel comfortable with the shot dont take it
  5. this is from 2015 https://ukshootingnews.wordpress.com/2015/09/05/ban-semi-autos-ban-50-cals-ban-free-1-4-1-variations-ban-magazines/
  6. it is interesting that since npcc was formed from acpo they have stopped publishing the minutes of their felwg meetings
  7. what is interesting about these proposals they have been on the cards for some time according to previously published felwg minutes especially the ones from feb/march 2015 the rapid firing ones it refers to are the mars/lever release style rifles although I agree it is vague as to what is rapid firing I believe they are going after those types not 22lr semis, 12g semis. previously it came up at their meetings and nabis was tasked on how to reclassify them im guessing to sec5 the reclassification of 50 cal to sec5 came out of leaked info that appeared on that shooting news website this was all back in 2015 I know some people dont trust that website as fact but this leak seems at least to be true regarding 50bmg being banned. although the real £64000 question is why now after having them all this time there must be less than 40 in the hands of civis for target shooting and at £5+ a round and £4000+ for the rifles they arent going to be a choice of gun for a criminal.
  8. those are Magpul E magazines for any 223 AR15 straight pull / lever release or mossberg mvp they will even work in those vz58's with the AR15 mag conversion any target/practical shooter that has any of the above style rifle will have those off you very good quality magazines, some police forces with their sfo's and ctsfo's use that style of magazine for their semi auto 223's, shops sell them for about £25/30 from what I know
  9. from what I've read poland and czech republic offer good pricing on their ranges to shoot handguns, can honestly see why people miss it over here after going to the usa several times over the past 5/6 years, my favourites to shoot were the glock 17 9mm any 1911 style .45 handgun when I went out to nevada and utah this year I finally got to shoot 10mm, 357 sig, .44 mag, .50 AE and S&W 500 magnum and finally fired a full auto ar15 with a 100 rounds the recoil off the desert eagle .50 wowsers a full magazine was enough, the 10mm was pretty snappy on the recoil .45 acp is a much better round to shoot than 10mm

  14. Hello All, I will be in the market next year for a crossover type car as Im looking for the higher ride height but cant afford to run a proper 4x4 I would have a proper 4x4 in a heartbeat or even a pickup truck. Currently driving a vw golf 1.6 tdi, Was looking at the Kia Sportage, Hyundai IX35 and the Ford Kuga around 2013/2014 Reg Models, Which is a good one ? do any of you own the above, currently drive about 50 miles a day to work and back mainly motorway miles so really need 40+ mpg
  15. Hello, I previously used to use enterprise for my visits over to where my uncle lives in the midwest, however they gave you a great price when you reserved and when you got to the desk and added in insurance etc a 2 week rental went to $1200 for a midsize/std suv!, I went to Nevada & Utah back in late june for 3 weeks, this time I went with Alamo for a change and found them very good up front with all the charges at the time of reservation and you got to choose your car when you arrive, I can highly recommend them based on my experience $1200 for 3 weeks rental on a standard suv, plus sat nav, full tank of fuel and breakdown cover plus insurance my work colleague went to florida last year and she was told to pick any mondeo sized car she ended up getting a dodge challenger no upgrade costs
  16. ah right seen travel ex when ive been through the airport, caxton will check that out now cheers nice one will have a look at that too thanks looking forward to this trip 3 weeks driving up to utah spending a week there then travelling round nevada & arizona for the last 2,

  18. my main rfd I buy all my rifles/shotguns through has put their price up to £17 for hornady a box strange though that winchester's 17gr hmr ammo is averaging the old price of hornady In all my local rfd's £12/£13 per 50
  19. Dont have a nighteater but I have a Nikko Stirling Diamond on my 223 so far so good not lost zero
  20. looking into this website they want to license the magazines we use no matter if its for a bolt, semi auto, straight pull etc just what stuff have those crackpots been smoking, license pieces of plastic/polymer/metal they have actually lost the plot looks like they have chosen to ignore vicky ford and her team's counter proposal/thoughts http://www.gunsweek.com/en/current/articles/eu-gun-ban-new-call-action-firearms-united

  24. thanks for all the replies and information people appreciate it well I have been looking at all of them not made my mind up yet between the 4 ha ha I have reconsidered that in the near future I will go down the reloading route instead of just buying factory ammo one of my shooting mates is showing me the whole process this week, how many rounds should I put in for when I put my variation in 250/300 or more? plus expanding heads allowance as well for reloading
  25. heard good things about the treble 2, never used one before do they tend to like 40-50gr loads the .222?
