Frenchieboy
I am about to buy a new Stealth Ghost Net for Pigeon and Crow decoying. I have been offered either a 2 ply or a 3 ply - Both are 5M long x 1.5M high and have a price difference of only about £5.00. With that in mind I have to admit that I am swung towards the 3 ply but I am wondering if this is necessary. I appreciate that the 3 ply will give slightly more cover but I already have a nylon lightweight "nylon tarpaulin" (About 6m long by 1.5m high) which I can use in the rear of the hide so as not to leave it "see through" if I don't have a hedge or dark background to build my hide against - This rolls up to a small package about 15" long by about 9" dia and weighs less than a pound in weight so isn't much to store or carry. With this in mind which would you go for, the 2 ply or the 3 ply, and why?
motty
I'd get both. I usually use at least 3 nets when making a good hide. That said, sometimes just one is enough.
Lg1
3 ply is good this time of year, in strong sun stealth nets can go a bit transparent so having a bit more concealment can go a long way
ditchman
ive just gone over to stealth nets as they are nice and light and scrunch up into a small space.....the nets i have been using for the last 40 or so years were ex military nets.......one thing i have found is the ex military stuff lets the wind thro easily...where as the 2 ply stealth net becomes like a sail and messes up the poles...i think a 3 ply would be even worse having said that im not going to change now

Thanks for mentioning it!
Tod
Get the 2 ply, lighter and easier to see through, just make sure youve got a good background behind you to block the light.
