bostonmick
I believe all gulls are protected, and that includes their nests, however you can obtain a license to cull them under special circumstances but I don't know how or who you would have to see to get one.in my opinion they are no more than rats with wings. Good shot?
Link to General Licence http://www.naturalengland.org.uk/Images/wml-gl06_tcm6-24151.pdf I believe only Lesser Black Backed Gull is on the General Licence but I would dig deeper to be sure. I am sure others will advise, but I would want to double check for my self to be sure. You may be able to apply for a special licence for others depending on circumstances. stubby
I think you'll find the only way you're allowed to control them is by shooting their eggs on nest, not shooting them
